Starting Point

If you’ve recently joined Light of the World Church this is where every member starts. This group is for you if you accepted Jesus for the first time, would like more information about accepting Jesus as your savior or simply want to know a little bit more about our Church. Take a look into what it means to be a member of Light of the World, follow Jesus and have your questions about God and membership turn into a conversation about faith.

When it comes to exploring faith, it’s natural to have questions. Unfortunately, church is sometimes the last place you want to bring those questions. We’d like to change that.

You’re invited to join the conversation in Starting Point. Each year we provide a safe place for hundreds of people just like you to explore faith through Starting Point. This eight-week group experience is facilitated by leaders who have been where you are, wrestled with their own faith questions, and understand the value of creating a safe, judgment-free environment for you to explore faith.

Starting Point is a gathering where your questions about God turn into a conversation about faith. In a Starting Point group, you can discuss your doubts and explore the trickiest topics of faith, free from pressure and judgment.

Faith is not a destination. It’s a journey. Some of the people in your seats on Sunday may be pretty far along in that journey. Their relationship with Jesus may be years, even decades long.

But others may be at the very beginning…they aren’t convinced about church or Jesus or the Bible just yet. And for many of them, church is the last place they’d go to ask their questions.

A church should feel like a family. It shouldn’t feel like an event to attend, but a place to belong. That’s why CLASS is important – because we weren’t meant to go through life alone. When it comes to finding your purpose, using your God-given gifts to serve, and surrounding yourself with community, we’re giving you a deliberate path to follow. It’s a path that won’t confuse you or leave you in the dark.

So don’t think of CLASS as a college course. Think of it as a way to find your purpose and your people, because there’s more for you at Saddleback than just attending a weekend service. You have the opportunity to discover your purpose and start living out all that God has for you
