God Can’t Really Love Me

Bible Reading:  Romans 5

Key Verse:  Romans 5:8

There are many people that are missing out on having a relationship with God because of the “F” word….FEAR.  They are afraid that they are living in so much sin that if they were to approach God, He would reject them.  What we fail to realize many times is that God is not like man (HALLELUJAH!!!!).  Even though He is a righteous and just God, He is also a compassionate, loving father.  Yes, some of us have done some things that were less than nice.  OK let’s be honest, we ALL have done some things that were just down right evil and dishonest.  If people had access to the stuff we keep hidden in our secret closet of sin, we would probably lose respect from many of our friends and family members.  God however, is not like that.  He knows everything that we have done, what we are doing, and what we will do.  Even with all of this knowledge, He still wants us to bring those filthy secrets and evil desires to Him so that he can wash our hearts with the blood of his Son Jesus, and make us new again.  This is the reason that He sent his very own Son to die for us.  He wants a relationship with you, but you have to take the first step.  People may judge you, but do they have a heaven or hell to put you in?  No!  Get over the fear and take a bold step towards God.  The apostle Paul did it.  Before he was saved, he persecuted the Christians in the bible days.  He had an encounter with God that changed his life forever.  If God can forgive and love an ex-murderer like the apostle Paul, I am quite confident that He can and will do the same for you. Give Him a chance.

Prayer:  Lord, I pray that you will forgive me of my sins.  I ask that you will wash my heart in the blood of your son, Jesus Christ.  I give my heart to you today and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  I leave the sin of my past with you and I walk in your light from this very moment.  I thank you for your unconditional love and I pray that you will help me to see myself as your child, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
